Aspiring Professionals Programme (Yr 12, application deadline: 16th Dec 2020)


Aspiring Professionals Programme - Year 12

Applications are now open for the Social Mobility Foundation’s 2021 Aspiring Professionals Programme. This supports ambitious, high achieving young people from low-income backgrounds to access top universities and professional careers. The programme is free of charge and features university application support including free visits (when possible!), mentoring and internships with leading companies, and professional development and skills workshops.


If you meet the eligibility criteria you could apply for APP Residential or APP Reach


The deadline to complete this application form is Wednesday 16th December 2020 at 12pm (midday).

England & Wales

• Currently in Year 12

• Achieved 4 or 5 7s at GCSE as outlined in the regional list

• Predicted ABB at A Level or equivalent

• Eligible for free school meals OR first generation to attend university if outlined in the region list

 

APP Reach

APP Reach supports motivated, ambitious students with the ability but without the network or means to access competitive universities and top professions. We offer support across three pillars:

Mentoring by a professional via email

Online resources to develop skills and career knowledge

University application support and guidance


We offer support to young people interested in:

Accountancy | Architecture | Banking & Finance | Biology & Chemistry | Business | Digital | Engineering & Physics | Law | Media & Communications | Medicine | Politics | No Preference


Applicants should meet the following criteria:

In Lower 6th/S5

Achieved 5 9-5 (A*-C) GCSES or 5 A-C at National 5

Eligible for free school meals or first generation to university

Aspire to attend university and enter a profession in one of the above sectors.

 

APP Residential

APP Residential is for students anywhere in the UK outside of London who would like an insight into a specific sector with a top employer from that field.

APP BP Engineering Programme

For students interested in civil engineering and the built environment.

APP J.P. Morgan Digital Programme

For students interested in computer science, financial technology, cyber security, coding and system design.

APP J.P. Morgan Finance Programme

For students interested in banking and finance, investment banking, mathematics and economics.

APP KPMG Accountancy Programme

For students interested in accountancy and professional services.

APP Law Insight Programme

For students interested in pursuing law.

APP Medicine Insight Programme

For students (living in England, outside London only) who are interested in pursuing Medicine.

APP Neil Stevens Fellowship Digital Programme

For students interested in gaming, system design, and coding.

APP PA Consulting Springboard Programme

For students interested in general business, consultancy, politics, and sustainability.

Often, major firms and opportunities are situated within London, putting those in the rest of the UK at a disadvantage accessing similar opportunities. Our residential programmes are specifically designed to support ambitious young people living outside of the capital to gain valuable work experience and to improve their soft skills.
