Fire & Rescue Services 'Have a go' evening (Year 13, Monday 7th November 6.30-8pm)

If you live or work in Calne, have you thought about being an on-call firefighter?

Over the next couple of weeks, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s recruitment team will be out and about in the local area, engaging with the community and spreading the word about what being an on-call firefighter involves.

Interested and over 17 1/2?

A special ‘have a go’ evening will then be held at the fire station in Station Road on Monday 7 November between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Find out more information and have a go at being a firefighter!

Interested and under 17 1/2?

If you are under 17 ½ you are also more than welcome to come along as long as you are accompanied by an adult. You won't be able to take part and 'have a go' but you will be able to watch and find out all about the job.

How to apply or find out more?

Anyone interested in applying can call in that evening and find out more about what’s involved, the fitness requirements and the benefits of the job, including extra salary.

When the pager goes off, an on-call firefighter can be called to a wide range of incidents, such as fires, road traffic collisions, rescues from height or water, animal rescue or flooding.

If you want to support your community, learn new skills and earn additional income, get in touch! Look out for the team, visit www.dwfire.org.uk/on-call-firefighters, email oncallsupportofficers@dwfire.org.uk or leave a message on the 24-hour recruitment line, 01722 691444.
