Great Western Hospital Work Experience (Yr 10-13, 18th - 29th Oct 2021)

In October, our GWH virtual work experience in conjunction with Springpod will commence!

The dates that we will be running the programme are from: 18th of October until the 29th of October 2021.

Our programme with Springpod includes 7 different modules which all focus on the types of professions found within the NHS, including:

• nursing

• midwifery

• AHP’S part 1

• AHP’s part 2

• clinical psychology

• non-clinical roles

• medicine

During the programme, we organise 6 live webinars from the clinical areas above so that students are able to meet the staff from GWH (please note this does not include non-clinical roles).

The modules contain lots of useful information on the different roles such as entry requirements, routes into the roles, what the job entails and real-life experiences. As part of the Work Experience programme there are also different assignments which students will need to complete to progress to the next module such as short quizzes or writing a personal statement for university. At the end of the programme once all work is submitted, students will receive a certificate of completion.

To apply for this programme, students must:

• Have an interest in a career in healthcare

• Be in Years 10-13 and attend a school or college within 19 miles radius of the hospital

• Be predicted or have attained Level 4 in GCSE maths, English and science.

Students do not need to be available full-time during these dates, but they will need to complete 10 hours of work over the two weeks.
