Thinking about life after school or perhaps a change in career? Maybe you enjoy fixing things or prefer being outdoors and doing hands-on practical work? Perhaps you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill?
Our Apprenticeship Programme offers you the chance to earn whilst you learn new skills. Trainees on our Apprenticeship Programme are provided with the opportunity to achieve a formal apprenticeship whilst gaining valuable work experience and nationally recognised qualifications. Our range of apprenticeship programmes can take up to 4 years to complete and are centred on work-based learning and training linked directly to the job.
You will be supported throughout your programme by a wide number of colleagues including mentors, Learning and Talent support staff and business operational colleagues. You will be provided with on the job training and supported by our academic training partners. The majority of our apprentices attend college on a block release basis and can be away from home for short periods of time. You will be supported fully during this time.
By the end of your apprenticeship you will have formal qualifications and accreditations that will offer you the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector. With a carefully designed development programme, you’ll have everything you need to progress your SSE career as far as you want to go.
What do I need? We’re looking to recruit the best future talent for our sector – and we know that it’s not all about qualifications. We’re more interested in your innate strengths and the qualities you can bring to SSE. You don't need any experience to apply, you just need to have an interest in the work we do at SSE, an appreciation of our core values, particularly safety and the desire to do well.
