This DfE funded programme has been set up to encourage more people to apply for Teacher Training courses in Maths, Physics and Computer Science. We’ll talk to interns about the opportunities to train as a teacher, and we are keen to recruit STEM degree students who have not yet considered a teaching career.

Excalibur offers paid teaching internships based at St John’s Marlborough, funded by the DfE. The 2022 programme will run for three weeks from mid June.

DfE funding pays interns £300 per week.

The aim of the programme is to encourage students to consider teaching Maths, Physics or Computer Science as a career once they graduate.

The internship will provide valuable work experience and skills which are transferable into other careers, enabling students to gain confidence and giving them the edge in the job market. More importantly, the programme offers an unforgettable life experience.
